Halloween Parade and Fall Festival
October 24-26, 2008

Three-day event that consists of costume contests, live entertainment, a craft fair, fabulous food, fun rides, game booths and much more. The Halloween Parade has been an Anaheim tradition since 1924, when baseball legend Babe Ruth was honored as the Grand Marshal of the celebration.

Knott’s professional “scare-masters” have transformed the old Berry Farm into Knott’s Scary Farm for another year of the world’s first, biggest and most famous theme park Halloween event! Beginning September 27 and running for 27 select horrifying nights through Halloween, this is the original, in-your-face LIVE Halloween experience – a 160-acre living horror movie filled with 13 chilling mazes, 7 hair-raising shows, 4 horrific scare zones and 1,000 monsters roaming for their next victim. Knotts Berry Farm Camp Spooky Treasure Hunt
Weekends Only in October 10am - 5pm

For the younger set, Knott’s Treasure Hunt in Camp Snoopy is an alternative daytime non-scare celebration of Halloween cheer rather than fear. This special, family-friendly, event is a playful pirate party complete with trick or treating, “Captain Jack’s Haunted Hideaway” maze, and themed entertainment for kids ages 3-11.

Pumpkins & Pancakes - A Children’s Halloween Extravaganza
October 26, 2008 from 8-11 a.m.

South Coast Plaza and The Friends of CASA present Pumpkins & Pancakes ? A Children?s Halloween Extravaganza. Children come in costume and will enjoy live music and entertainment. Guests will also enjoy a gourmet pancake breakfast, cappuccino bar, balloon artists, a live animal show, trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, and a special visit with Cartoon Characters. All proceeds from the event benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA works to break the vicious cycle of child abuse by training community volunteers to speak up for abused children and guiding them into environments where they will thrive.

Interpretive Association will once again host Doheny's Halloween Haunt. A section of the campground will be transformed into a spooky area with a variety of educational booths on animals such as spiders, sharks, venomous marine animals, bats, etc. that many people are afraid of. By answering a question at one of the interpretive booths not only do guests learn about animals they may consider scary, but they'll earn a card for snacks or to use in the game area.

This event is completely free, and the ten dollar parking fee is waived for the event. Each person is asked to donate one non-perishable food item which will be given to a local food bank!

FULLERTON

Haunted Fullerton Walking Tours
Wednesdays and Thursdays Sept. 17 through Nov. 6, 6 p.m. (lasting about 2 ½ hours)

Did you know Fullerton is one of the most haunted cities around? Ghosts are lurking at every corner. Take this tour and find out what businesses have pots and pans flying around after hours, what famous deceased Fullertonian makes an “appearance” now and then, and where the spirits like to have a beer or two. Don’t miss out on a hauntingly good time!

“Ghost hunters” should be prepared to walk approximately 1.5 miles, and the tours will include climbing stairs. Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a sense of humor with them. The tour is not recommended for children under 13.

$15 for museum members; $18 for the general public. Space is limited and prepaid reservations are required.

Haunted Garden at the Arboretum
October 24 & 25, 2008
Tours for this popular event start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:15 p.m. both nights.

Watch out for bats & bullfrogs, vampires & vermin, ghosts, goblins and ghouls. Follow Count Dracula and Friends of Frankenstein for a scary trip down garden paths into the deciduous forest and on to the Haunters’ Ball for refreshments and fun.

Haunted Garden will feature again this year a less spooky “Younger Children’s Costume Party” on Saturday, October 25th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. for children 3-5 years of age. The afternoon will include a daytime walk through the Haunted Garden, costume parade, crafts, fun and refreshments. The cost for the afternoon activities is $5.00 per child. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Night of the Living Dead
October 3 - November 2, 2008

"A true cult classic - and one of the scariest movies of all time. The dead are walking, and hunger for human flesh. A group of panicked survivors are barricaded in a deserted farmhouse while the army of flesh-eating zombies hovers outside their door. This Halloween experience the bone-chilling terror on STAGE!

Annual Boo Bash Halloween Carnival
October 25, 2008

Geared for children ages 12 and under, the Boo Bash culminates with an outdoor screening of "The Wizard of Oz" during a special Lounge Chair Theatre starting at dusk. Carnival admission is free. Boot Hill

An elaborate yard display in Irvine, BOOT HILL rises from the fog for it's 8th year to inhabit the residence at 16 Goldenrod. The unearthly spirits from the old west town of Bridgewood will materialize for four short nights, transforming the residence at 16 Goldenrod into the old church and cemetary that once occupied the land. Come if you dare...but beware the ghost of Jedediah Smith, he has been known to roam through the decaying grounds of Boot Hill.

Free to all, donations are accepted with proceeds going to CHOC: Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Irvine Park Railroad’s 3rd annual pumpkin patch is fun for the entire family! The pumpkin patch opens daily at 10:00 am beginning September 20th through November 2nd. Activities include train rides, hay rides, a haunted house, a hay maze, pony rides, a moon bounce, face painting (weekends only), picture stands, the Orange County Zoo, and a lot more. At the end of Frontier Street, in the Wagon Wheel section of Trabuco Canyon, you'll find the elaborate haunted house called The Pirates of Frontier. This multi-room haunt is safe for all ages (we adapt the tour for the young'ens) and it features Redbeard's Saloon, the Pirate Dungeon, outdoor graveyard and elaborate shipwreck scene. As you approach the house from down the street, you can't miss the old rusty shack that serves as the entrance to The Pirates of Frontier. The haunt is free, but we are accepting $2 donations with all proceeds benefitting the Second Harvest Food Bank.
