expansive park sits at the south end of the Laguna
Greenbelt. Its canyons harbor a pastoral feel
unmatched in Orange County. Favored with petroglyphs
etched by native people, Aliso & Wood Canyons
are natural wonders still to be enjoyed.

Carbon Canyon Regional
Park is nestled among the rolling foothills of
the Chino Hills range. The park entrance is located
one mile east of Valencia Avenue on Carbon Canyon
Road in the city of Brea. This 124 acre park has
rugged canyon terrain and many recreational activities.
Hiking and equestrian trails are both available.
County programs include naturalist-guided tours,
group talks, and nature hikes.
Ortega Highway winds up through the Trabuco Ranger
District of the Cleveland National Forest. Along
this highway are beautiful hiking trails, campgrounds
and scenic stops.
Located in majestic Trabuco Canyon, this expansive
park offers a unique spot for both day use and
camping. Life's
hectic pace slows noticeably when you enter the
tree-shaded grounds. The feeling is remote, rural,
relaxing.
An 8,000 acre protected wilderness preserve nestled
among the river terraces and sandstone canyons
of the western coastal Santa Ana Mountains. The
park has campgrounds, restrooms and showers, picnic
areas, an equestrian campground, hiking and equestrian
trails and a future visitor center will offer
the park user an insight into the park's history,
wildlife and plant life.

This
secluded refuge offers the natural charm of mountain
vistas, an orange grove, native oak trees and
a creek. Here, hikers, naturalists and equestrians
can enjoy the scenery as well as interpretive
programs at the visitor center.
Over 1,500 acres of deeply forested canyons, scenic
rock formations and grassy rolling hills are enriched
by intermittent streams and trails to create an
ideal open-air opportunity for hikers, mountain
bikers and equestrians. The
park's interpretive center features a trail rest
stop, cultural and natural history exhibits and
park information.
Biannual
“Family Nature Workshops” on Saturdays are offered
free for families who come to Starr Ranch to participate
in workshops that include a sampling of their
ecology programs, nature walks, and programs by
guest biologists. During week-end “Wildlife Research
Camps” families have fun together doing outdoor
research with our biologists during day and evening
programs.

With it's gently rolling hills, sycamore
and oak groves, and views of the surrounding area,
this is the perfect ride for the casual biker.
