Please identify yourselves as volunteers at the kiosk as you enter the park to receive a complimentary parking pass to display in the window of your vehicle.

Participants in Earth Month events include educational institutions, NGOs, government agencies, and businesses, all bringing their perspectives on sustainability to campus to encourage the campus community as well as the greater community to live a sustainable life.

Stewardship Sunday Beach Cleanup at Crystal Cove State Park

Come spend some of your Earth Day weekend beautifying Crystal Cove State Park at a Stewardship Sunday Beach Cleanup. Volunteers needed to clean the park’s coastline and bluff trail. We encourage you to bring your own supplies including buckets and bags to help reduce plastic bag usage. Meet at Reef Point parking lot near the restroom (PCH coastward at Reef Point) to check in and pick up supplies. Fee waived for event

LAGUNA NIGUEL

Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 23, 2022
8:30-11:30 am

Join the Niguel Botanical Preserve and the City of Laguna Niguel for this year's Earth Day Celebration. Volunteers will plant, dig, rake, shovel mulch, remove weeds, and other similar physical tasks in the Niguel Botanical Preserve. Volunteers who are 13 years and up can bring the signed release waiver and check in at the amphitheater. Parents/guardians are required to stay with volunteers who are 12 years of age and younger. Wear comfortable clothes, closed-toed shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and pack a water bottle! A light snack will be provided upon arrival. Volunteers will be sent to specific areas to assist with duties. Team leaders will guide the work duties. Groups are encouraged to join!

MISSION VIEJO

Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration
Saturday, April 23, 2022
8 am - 12 pm

Volunteers will have the chance to embrace nature by planting trees and shrubs at Upper Oso Creak Trail by the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center. Participants should wear a hat, gloves, boots and sunscreen. Lunch and ice cream will be available for volunteers while supplies last.

Along with the planting, the City is hosting a Green Expo at the park that will feature earth-friendly activities and environmental exhibits with tips on pollution prevention, recycling and more.

Earth Day at the Bay

This free, family-friendly event features environmental-themed exhibits from community partners and local artists. Booths will feature activities which include arts and crafts, science, discovery, and educational information. There will be live music throughout the day as well as a scavenger hunt complete with prizes. Food trucks will be on site with tasty treats available for purchase.

Earth Day Restoration

Give back on Earth Day by participating in a restoration event. Participants will help mother earth by watering native plants or pulling weeds. After your morning of hard work, walk down to the Muth Center and enjoy our Earth Day Celebration!

Guests are encouraged to bring bags of small, clean, hard plastic items (bottle caps, toy pieces, old pens and markers, etc.) from home, so that the Child Creativity Lab can help them make an amazing creation and keep these plastics out of our bay and ocean.

Food trucks will be on site selling delicious culinary creations. Also, be sure not to miss the opportunity drawing!

Eco Challenge Day at the Cube
April 1-30, 2022

In observance of Earth Month, step into the wonderful World of Organics Waste exhibit & interactive game, where kids discover the perfect compost recipe ingredients. Reduce, reuse, and recycle at the Discovery Market where kids grab their shopping carts & scanners to play as they learn about smart shopping choices that send less waste to the landfill. Race your friends in the interactive game to properly sort waste & divert waste from landfills at the Race to Recycle exhibit & life-sized truck. Kids finish the game understanding the difference between green waste, household hazardous waste, landfill waste, & recyclable waste.

Santa Ana Zoo's Party for the Planet/Endangered Species Day - Santa Ana

Open to the public, Party for the Planet is a fun-filled day that celebrates wildlife while promoting conservation and educating Zoo guests about the different ways they can explore and help protect the environment. The event is FREE for FOSAZ Members and included in the price of general admission. Santa Ana locals with proof of residency are welcome to join the Zoo's Party for the Planet free of charge.

Throughout the event, Zoo guests can create conservation-friendly crafts and play fun games, as well as learn from hands-on demonstrations and education stations featuring animals, recycling, sustainable living and a variety of special guests including members of the Santa Ana City Water District, Fullerton Arboretum and other community organizations.
