Earth Day is April 22 (and National Arbor Day is April 30!), but there are many celebrations and events throughout the month of April with most events held on April 13-20th.

Arbor Day Celebration
Wednesday, April 17, 2024
4:30 pm

Hosted by the La Palma Community Activities & Beautification Committee and Community Services Department, the Arbor Day Celebration will include a display of entries from the coloring and art contests.

This family event also includes Arbor Day crafts, the Arbor Day Tree Sponsorship program, a coloring & poster contest awards presentation, and of course, the planting of a new tree in Central Park.

Celebrate Earth Day with your Westminster Community!
Saturday, April 20, 2024
9am – 12pm

Celebrate Earth Day with your Westminster community!

Come out on Saturday, April 20th to Coronet Park or Margie L. Rice Park to give a small amount of your time to make a big impact. Both locations will feature volunteer service projects, engaging activities for the whole family and information booths from 9am-12pm. Learn to be more conservation-minded while having a fun time!

Want to help plant trees and join the park clean up? Sign-up to be a volunteer at: bit.ly/WestminsterEarthDay2024

Adults, families, youth groups, service clubs, etc. are all welcome. Volunteers will receive a commemorative t-shirt & snacks. Volunteer sign-ups close Sunday, April 7th.

Bolsa Chica's Earth Day Festival - Huntington Beach
April 21, 2024

Celebrate Earth Day at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands!

The Bolsa Chica Earth Day Festival offers FREE family fun for everyone! Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with live animals, learn about pollution and wetland ecology, test the water quality, and much more! Alongside a multitude of educational activity booths, the festival will also include a jump tent and guided tours of the reserve!

Sponsored by the Bolsa Chica Conservancy and the Amigos de Bolsa Chica.

Festival of Nations - La Palma
Saturday, April 27, 2024
10:30 am (parade start) - 4:30 pm

La Palma Festival of Nations will celebrate La Palma’s cultural heritage through dancing, performances, and exhibits. Kicking off the event will be a hometown parade marching down Walker Street at 10:30 then continuing with the festival until 6 pm

Following the Parade, the Festival will feature fun attractions for all ages, kids-zone, petting zoo, carnival games, international food trucks, and a beer and wine garden. Throughout the day musical performances and dances will be held at the Central Park Pavilion.

Spring Citrus Fair - La Habra

The La Habra Chamber of Commerce will produce its Annual Spring Citrus Fair — full of period charm — showcasing the history of the La Habra Valley.

Rancho Days Fiesta

Come explore the rich history of Orange County’s rancho era through hands-on activities, crafts, music, dance and more at the annual Rancho Days Fiesta at Heritage Hill Historical Park!

Activities and performances include: Native American and Folklorico dancing, Early California ranching with hands-on activities and exhibitors, Music, piñata breaking and crafts for children, Charro horse riding and roping demonstrations plus Historic buildings will be open, courtesy of the Amigos de la Colina docents

Soka Peace Festival - Aliso Viejo

Greek Festival - Anaheim

The Anaheim Children’s Festival offers families and people of all ages the opportunity to enjoy exploring and making art together. The Children’s Festival includes booths, art projects, musical and performing groups, and plenty of fun for kids and families! All art activities are FREE to all participants!

The Anaheim Children’s Festival has been going strong for 32 years and it continues to grow under the umbrella of the Muzeo Museum and their commitment to the children of the Orange County area.

Children's Organizations

Boy Scouts of Orange County

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. In the future Scouting will continue to offer young people responsible fun and adventure; instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law.

Girl Scouts of Orange County

Through a wide range of enriching experiences-field trips, cultural exchanges, community service, leadership opportunities, skill-building workshops, outdoor education-girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scout program is progressive and age-appropriate, with the girls' roles and responsibilities expanding as they move through the different levels. Girl Scouting helps cultivate values, social conscience and self-esteem in young girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults.

National Girls Ministries

Girls Ministries is a ministry tool to help fulfill the Titus 2 principle of women mentoring young girls. Girls can begin in Missionettes at 3 years of age and continue through high school.
