Tamale Festival - Placentia

The Placentia Santa Fe Merchants Association and the City of Placentia are proud to bring you the annual Tamale Festival to be held in Old Town Placentia in the 100-200 blocks of Santa Fe Street.

The event will feature live entertainment, food and tamale vendors, non-profit booths, business booths, a beer garden, pictures with Santa Claus, a Holiday Tree Lighting, and a kid's games area.

South Coast Repertory presents: A Christmas Carol - Costa Mesa
November 26 - December 24, 2022

Orange County’s favorite yuletide tradition continues! From the first “Bah humbug” to the final “Wassail,” this timeless classic is sure to rekindle your holiday spirit. Join all your favorite Dickens characters—Tiny Tim and the Cratchit family, the Fezziwigs, the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet-to-come, and of course, everyone’s favorite curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge, portrayed by SCR Founding Member Richard Doyle.

Advisory: Ages 6 and up. Children under the age of six will not be admitted to A Christmas Carol. Everyone—regardless of age—must have a ticket, sit in a seat and be able to sit quietly through the performance. This show contains smoke, haze and ​strobe effects.

Festival of Arts Continues 90th Anniversary Celebration with Debut of foaSOUTH Off-Site Exhibit: People & Places - Laguna Beach
Now through January 15th, 2023
9 AM - 8 PM

The historic Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach is continuing its commemorative festivities in celebration of the Festival’s 90th anniversary! The iconic arts organization is pleased to announce the debut of its latest off-site exhibit: People & Places, now open for guests to experience and browse through January 15th, 2023.

This exhibit presents artworks in a variety of styles and mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, and photography. The works displayed are from well-known Festival artists including Scott Anthony, Lu Campbell, Carol Tolin, Gary Goff, R. Benson, Darlene Campbell, Agnes Copeland, Vinita Voogd, Scott Albert, Helen Weld, and Elizabeth McGhee. These works are all currently housed in the Festival’s Permanent Art Collection and will be on display for the public to enjoy during this limited time exhibition. As the title suggests the subject matter is focused on either people or places; however, the works are as varied as the mediums represented.

San Juan Capistrano Walking Tour - San Juan Capistrano
Saturdays
1 pm

The Walking Tour visits two San Juan Capistrano adobes built in the 1790s and the Victorian Pryor House. Hear tales of Buchard the pirate, Juan Flores the bandito, Chola Martina the bruja and much more.

The Historical Society gives tours every Saturday at 1:00 pm starting at the train depot. Tours last about 45 minutes and include the Society’s own collection of historic structures as well as other homes in the Los Rios District. As the oldest, continuously inhabited street in California, Los Rios Street is a charming neighborhood with a colorful history.
