Anaheim Cemetery Memorial Day Program

The Orange County Cemetery District will once again host in person Memorial Day Services honoring veterans at all three of the District's cemeteries; Anaheim Cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park and Santa Ana Cemetery.
The program is sponsored by the American Legion Post 72 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3173. The observance will include special guest speakers, a wreath presentation, poetic readings and a Rifle Volley Salute. The Orange County Cemetery District wishes to thank all of the many volunteers who are making this program possible.

Forest Lawn – Cypress will be providing vintage military displays and vehicles on Memorial Day. Program highlights include Keynote address by Garth Massey, USMC Leadership Pasedena, patriotic music by Western High School Band, Rifle Salute, Invocation, Color Guard and wreath laying.
Following the Memorial Day Celebration, attendees will be treated to ice cream and much more for the entire family.

of War Memorial Day Event

Dana Point Veterans of War Post 9934 presents this annual Memorial Day Event held at Pines Park in Capistrano Beach. A special part of this program is the “Boots and Rifle” ceremony conducted by officers of Post 9934, and the bugle call, TAPS played by that master of the trumpet, David Longoria.
Program will feature Marine Color Guard, vocalists, speakers OC Supervisor Lisa Bartlett, Dana Point Police Services Captain Kirsten Monteleone and a Squadron Commander and Chaplain from Marine Aircraft Group 39. The program will include special recognition to veterans of World War II and Korea.

Northwood Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony - a special candle lighting ceremony will be held at the Northwood Gratitude and Honor Memorial at Northwood Community Park. To honor our military fallen, we are pleased to feature guest speakers Jim and Carla Hogan, Gold Star parents of Lance Corporal Donald J. Hogan who lost his life while serving our nation in Afghanistan. The ceremony is held in partnership with the Northwood Memorial Committee. Please bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. The City of Irvine will host its annual Memorial Day Ceremony in the Formal Garden at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park. A Commanding Officer from Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion will speak to pay tribute to our military fallen. Guests will have the opportunity to honor family and friends who have died in the line of duty by posting a brief remembrance on a memory board at the event. Cards will be available for well-wishers to send a message of appreciation and support to members of Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion. Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park is at 4 Civic Center Plaza, Irvine. For better access to the event, please enter the parking lot located on Harvard Avenue at San Juan.

El Toro Memorial Park Memorial Day Program

The Orange County Cemetery District will once again host in person Memorial Day Services honoring veterans at all three of the District's cemeteries; Anaheim Cemetery, El Toro Memorial Park and Santa Ana Cemetery.
Keynote Speaker will be Vietnam Veteran Bill Ring who flew over 500 combat missions with the Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 165, First Marine Aircraft Wing. The program also includes , special musical performances by the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley, "Amazing Grace" will be played on the bagpipes by Dean Johnson, "Taps" will be performed by bugler, Michael McPhie and Gene Smith will provide prelude and postlude guitar music. There will aslo be a wreath presentation and an Honor Guard Firing Salute provided by member of VFW Post 6024. American Legion Chaplain Frank Cook will also provide a World War I Historical Display.

Having existed for over 40 years, the Ceremony pays tribute to the dedication and sacrifices the men and women of our Nation’s Armed Forces have made. Every Memorial Day, the City of La Palma honors their service in defense of our Freedom and their sacrifice for Liberty throughout the world.

The program includes a Parade of Flags, guest speakers, inspirational readings, a wreath presentation, special music by the Orange High School Chamber Singers and both Cannon and Honor Rifle Salutes. The Orange County Cemetery District wishes to thank all of the many volunteers who are making this program possible.

Memorial Day Services

Annual Memorial Day services will be held at the United States National Submarine Memorial West, located at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach.
The free event is open to the public and no advance reservations are needed. Observance will include speeches by local community leaders and submarine veterans and the “tolling the boats” ceremony during which each of the 52 U.S. submarines lost during World War Two is honored as a bell is tolled.

Commemorate Memorial Day at the Nixon Library

Pay tribute to America's fallen warriors on Memorial Day at the Nixon Library.
Programming begins at 10:30 AM with a formal presentation of colors and Congresswoman Young Kim laying a wreath and delivering remarks at the memorials of President Richard Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon.
At 11:00 AM the Huntington Beach Concert Band will perform its spectacular repertoire of patriotic favorites in the Nixon Library’s exact replica of America’s Grand Ball Room, more formally known as the White House East Room.
