Volunteer opportunities, hikes, festivals and more!

Earth Day is April 22 (and National Arbor Day is April 30!), but there are many celebrations and events throughout the month of April with most events held on April 13-20th.

Veggiepalooza Plant Sale - Fullerton
April 18-20, 2024

Over 200 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, sweet, mild & hot peppers, and varietal veggies. Check out over 200 varieties of ornamental plants including California natives grown here at the Arboretum.

Members can preorder and receive a 10% discount starting April 12 at 8 a.m. to April 16 at 5p.m. Orders will be ready for pick up during sale hours April 18-20. Celebrate Earth Day with your Westminster community!

Come out on Saturday, April 20th to Coronet Park or Margie L. Rice Park to give a small amount of your time to make a big impact. Both locations will feature volunteer service projects, engaging activities for the whole family and information booths from 9am-12pm. Learn to be more conservation-minded while having a fun time!

Bolsa Chica's Earth Day Festival - Huntington Beach

Celebrate Earth Day at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands!

The Bolsa Chica Earth Day Festival offers FREE family fun for everyone! Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with live animals, learn about pollution and wetland ecology, test the water quality, and much more! Alongside a multitude of educational activity booths, the festival will also include a jump tent and guided tours of the reserve!

Festival of Nations - La Palma

10:30 am (parade start) - 4:30 pm

La Palma Festival of Nations will celebrate La Palma’s cultural heritage through dancing, performances, and exhibits. Kicking off the event will be a hometown parade marching down Walker Street at 10:30 then continuing with the festival until 6 pm

Following the Parade, the Festival will feature fun attractions for all ages, kids-zone, petting zoo, carnival games, international food trucks, and a beer and wine garden. Throughout the day musical performances and dances will be held at the Central Park Pavilion.

Scottish Fest - Costa Mesa

The event features hundreds of bagpipers and drummers, Scottish and Irish food and vendors, Scottish clans, Highland dancing and traditional Scottish feats of strength like the hammer throw, putting the stone and caber toss. Part of the United Scottish Society, the festival was established in 1932 and was called a Highland Games in the tradition of Scottish heritage.

Whale Watching - Dana Point & Newport Beach
